Honeywell Sensing and Control ASDX/ASDX-DO Plastic Silicon Pressure Sensors

For industrial or medical equipment manufacturers requiring industry-leading plastic silicon pressure sensors from 1 to 5 psi, Honeywell is pleased to introduce the new ASDX Series and ASDX-DO Series plastic silicon pressure sensors. These sensors are designed to provide digital correction of sensor offset, sensitivity, temperature coefficients and non-linearity.

  • The ASDX Series with compensated analog output provides a ratiometric 12 bit analog output for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, allowing for fast and easy integration into standard electronic circuits.
  • The ASDX-DO Series with compensated 14 bit digital output provides either an I2C or SPI digital interface for reading pressure over the specified full scale pressure span and temperature range, minimizing connections and providing higher resolution and faster performance through reduced conversion requirements and the convenience of direct interface to the microprocessors or microcontrollers.

The ASDX and ASDX-DO Series include additional integrated signal conditioning, allowing the customer to remove signal conditioning components associated from their PC board to free up space and reduce costs normally associated with those components (e.g., acquisition, inventory, assembly). This integrated capability eliminates many potential problems that could arise from having multiple components for signal conditioning spread across a circuit board.

These sensors are designed to provide accurate pressure monitoring, leading to enhanced stability over time; a wide temperature calibration range of 0 °C to 85 °C [32 °F to 185 °F]; a typical response time of 1 ms, useful for applications that require a fast response; custom calibration that provides support for many unique applications; and operation from a single power supply of either 3.3 Vdc or 5.0 Vdc, allowing for application flexibility.

The ASDX Series and ASDX-DO Series plastic silicon pressure sensors are designed for use with non-corrosive, non-ionic working fluids such as air and dry gases. They may be used in many potential industrial and medical applications including barometry, flow calibrators, gas flow instrumentation, HVAC controls, sleep apnea equipment, pneumatic controls and ventilation/airflow monitors.
