An Ethernet switch is a telecommunication device that joins multiple devices within one Local Area Network (LAN). A switch has a more efficient way of handling and transmitting data between multiple devices within a LAN. An unmanaged switch behaves like a “plug and play” device. It cannot be configured and simply enables the devices to communicate with one another.
