Wireless communication is the transfer of information or power between two or more points that are not connected by an electrical conductor. The most common industrial wireless technologies use 900MHz or 2.4GHz radio frequencies. Others use Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or mobile phone networks such as GSM. Wireless systems are often used where installation costs are prohibitive for hardwired connections.
